The Activation: "ICU to Ironman"
On May 7th, 2026, we didn’t launch a marketing campaign. We bought out Maya Cinemas in Fresno and hosted a 180-person private documentary premiere.
The film, ICU to Ironman, documented the true story of our Founder, Nick Amp, surviving the ICU in Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and fighting back to train for a 140.6-mile Ironman.
The film was simply the anchor. The event itself was a meticulously engineered Brand Activation designed to merge corporate authority, non-profit impact, and community engagement into one room.
The Ecosystem of a Premium Event

- We secured alignments with GU Energy, Blue70, Doc’s Gym, & Expo Rentals.
- The Non-Profit Integration:
- We partnered directly with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF).
- Having their Community Engagement Manager and Chapter Director on stage integrated our firm with a massive, reputable cause.
- The Audience:
- We didn’t invite solely friends & family.
- We curated a room that included the Mayor of Clovis, the Mayor of Madera, Fresno County executives, local business leaders, & 30 families from the local Type 1 Diabetic community.
- Educational Impact:
- We brought in business CTE students from Big Picture High School to help manage the event, bridging the gap between corporate marketing and local education.
Engineering the Experience
Every detail of the premiere was designed to command attention and position The Sequoia Firm as the architects of the event.
Before the film even started, the audience was engaged through pre-show digital assets.
We built interactive slides that featured QR codes to digital programs, highlighted our corporate sponsors, and provided data-driven context (e.g., “Did you know an Ironman athlete burns up to 6,000 calories in a single day?”).
Following the film, we hosted a live Q&A panel with the representatives from Breakthrough T1D, successfully shifting the focus from a movie screening to a high-level discussion on community impact and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Physical Touchpoints & UGC:
We deployed a branded photobooth to instantly generate shareable social media content, and distributed premium custom headwear (Geiger) to turn attendees into walking billboards for The Sequoia Firm long after the event ended

The Impact
The metrics from this single activation outperformed what most standard digital marketing campaigns achieve in a year:
User-Generated Content (UGC):
